If you think, that Apple Maps are rubbish (yes, they are) and Google Maps are perfect – well, have a look. I set the route from Szczecin (Stettin, NW Poland) to Wrocław (Breslau, SW Poland). Normal parameters, driving, no special options – and the result was a bit of a surprise – nearly 25000 (twenty five thousands!) days!

Hypercreative girlfriend + Christmas + gingerbread + obsessed photographer + a bit of free time + iPhone 4s + Induro carbon fiber tripod + iMotion HD application + velcro + wooden train elements = well, we are about to see what. Stay tuned.

What you see is the first pictures of iPad mini. I was not convinced to it, since I own iPad 2 – so why change something bigger to something smaller? But when I put my hands on it, I got enlightened – and I must say, it is brilliant. Elegant, small, surprisingly thin and light – and gosh, it’s fast, really fast. The screen, not Retina though – it’s very, very good. When you have a chance – have a look. It is worth it.
What you see on those pictures is a size comparison to old iPad 2, iPhone and iPod Touch.
What you at the very bottom – is what happens when we got carried away a little.
More pictures below.

Yesterday an outstanding event tool place in Warsaw, right next to the Okęcie EPWA Airport. Night at the Aviation Institute (Noc w Instytucie Lotnictwa), where all the technology geeks and engineering nerds gather to watch all the most recent aviation engineering news. You could see real planes, helicopters, hovercrafts, jet engines, talk to real engineers and all things you could only think of, all the doors were opened. I will post more pictures later.
And, as you could see above, by (maybe not) complete coincidence, the ISS showed up right above the horizon and quickly moved above our heads. Clear sky, well lit by the sun, perfectly visible. And, as the picture proofs, with the little help of most modern technology called augmented reality, you can easily locate it and even take the photo of the visualisation. Obviously, the ISS above my head wasn’t that big – if it were, I should run for my life as fast as I could.
PS: The application I used: Sky View for iPhone.
Update: the shaky photo below was taken the next day, on Saturday. I will try to shoot a better one on Sunday.

Apple Maps, widely hated replacement of Google Maps. It is not that bad, in general I like it, it’s much much faster, I like the traffic service and turn by turn navigation. It’s not as good as Navigon I use, but since it’s very new – it’s ok. Having said that, I have asked Apple Maps to navigate me from Grodzisk Mazowiecki (outskirts of Warsaw, Poland) to Poleczki street south of Warsaw.
Normally, Route 1 from the picture below is what you want, but since I got the option to take Route 3, leading via S2 ring road of Warsaw, that was due to be completed for Euro 2012 (June), I armed myself with my MTB bike and off I went.

Just after the heavy rain, the sun came and the myst started to grow. Amazing effect, of course, can’t be shown on the picture taken with the old iPhone. But wait for the iPhone 5, things will look completely different. I wonder, how often will I take my old 5D out.

Big, wild, yellow toad. Very nice indeed – and it’s a mobile phone photo shot with the ancient iPhone 3GS.
